Jazz vocalist and pianist Bonnie Lancaster Craig was born in Ft. Myers FL and raised in nearby Immokalee. After graduating from Immokalee High School, she attended Edison State College and began private piano study with local jazz great Jerry Stawski.

Bonnie draws inspiration from the great jazz singers Ella Fitzgerald, Sara Vaughan, Billie Holiday and especially Nancy Wilson. She is also a fan of The Great American Songbook and always includes in her set the great standard tunes written by Irving Berlin, George and Ira Gershwin, Cole Porter, Harold Arlen, Hoagy Carmichael, Johnny Mercer and many others.

These days, Bonnie works in a variety of settings and musical styles including jazz, blues, top-40 and funk. You can hear her at the Diamondhead Beach Resort on Ft. Myers Beach where she has performed for over 10 years.

At the Roadhouse Cafe in Ft. Myers, you can catch Bonnie along with pianist Gary Goetz at the piano bar lounge on Wednesdays from 7:00-10:00 PM.

  1. Bonnie has a kind of sultry voice. When she sings ” Embraceable You ” or ” The Nearness of You ” it just tugs at your heart strings. Nobody does it better, and when she swings you can’t help but snap your fingers and tap your foot. She is one of the best singers in Fort Myers or anywhere. What a talent. Thanks Roadhouse for showcasing her. I’l never get tired of listening to her.
